I’m very pleased to have made some of the stock sounds for Massive X, which included getting a pre-release copy of the plugin.
Overall it’s excellent – the biggest thing for me is just the sound – the bass is thicker and richer, it sounds fatter and there are lots of ways to get physical modelling type sounds out of it, its capable of sounding really organic. I’m obviously a huge fan of Massive, but after a decade or so it’s clear it needed an update – and I think Native Instruments have done a great job with Massive X.
One of the great things about it is that it will be updated – so I’d expect some quality of life upgrades along with more modular effects, filters and wavetables, along with more presets.
I’m really looking forward to making some banks of sounds for it – even after several weeks of preset design I don’t feel I’ve gone very deep with it, and that there’s a lot more to discover about it.
